About Us

Every church needs to have a purpose statement that answers the question, "why do we exist?" At Grace Community Church we discovered the answer to this question in Life's Greatest Aim. Life's Greatest Aim is to pursue the Great Commandment, obey the Great Commission, to build a Great Church.  This is found in two of Jesus' teaching and our statement of purpose is based on these two teachings:

Jesus said regarding the Great Commandment: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'   All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40)

Jesus said in regards to the Great Commission: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:19-20)

The purpose of our Church is summarized in a single statement based on theses scriptures to build Christ's Church: To reach people in the Mt. Union area with the life changing message of Jesus, so they can experience intimate fellowship with God, belong to a community of believers, mature in genuine faith, be equipped for service, and empowered for their purpose to impact our community and world. All done to bring glory to God and enjoying Him forever.

Our Vision to accomplish this, is to honor Jesus by reaching out to those who are wounded in spirit, soul, and body, offering relationships with Jesus as the solution to their needs and life.
